Christian radio host slain in Mali
December 22, 2015
Three persons, including the host of a Christian radio station, were murdered in Timbuktu, Mali, on December 17.
The killings took place as the three were drinking tea outside the station, according to a Reuters report. Two suspects have since been arrested.
Islamist militias took over Timbuktu in 2012. The following year, Mali’s government, with the assistance of France, regained control.
Mali, a West African nation of 14.5 million, is 95% Muslim and 2% Christian. The majority of Christians there are Catholic.
