Pope addresses Italian railway workers
December 21, 2015
Pope Francis addressed 7,000 Italian state railways employees on December 19 and praised their commitment to the poor, including their assistance in constructing the homeless shelter whose holy door he opened the preceding day.
Speaking in Paul VI Audience Hall, the Pope said, “May the Year of Mercy, which opened only a few days ago impress upon our mind and our heart that mercy is the first and most real medicine for man, of which everyone has urgent need.”
