Pope thanks members of Council for the Economy for work on Vatican reforms

Pope Francis attended a meeting of the Council on the Economy on December 3, to thank the members of the new group for their efforts, the Vatican press office has disclosed.

The Pope emphasized that the Council on the Economy plays a pivotal role in his plans for Vatican reform. The Council supervises the work of the Secretariat for the Economy, which has concentrated on plans to ensure transparency in financial affairs and efficiency in handling the Vatican resources.

Cardinal Reinhard Marx, the coordinator of the Council, welcomed the Pontiff and thanked him for his support.
