Coptic Orthodox leader meets with Franciscans

The head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, has met with a delegation of Franciscans led by Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Custos of the Holy Land.

The Coptic pope was in Jerusalem for the funeral of Coptic Orthodox Archbishop Anba Abraham.
Father Pizzaballa paid tribute to Archbishop Abraham as a “deeply spiritual man,” while Pope Tawadros said that “my visit is also an occasion to express the strong bond between all Christian churches that witness to Christ. I try to build strong ties with all the churches without any exception.”
