Holy Land bishops: visit shrines as a sign of penance
December 04, 2015
The Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land has called upon pilgrims during the jubilee year of mercy to “visit the shrines as a sign of penance for all the sins against peace, reconciliation, and justice in the Middle East.”
This is not “a rite devoid of significance,” the Assembly added, but “a public promise of concrete, personal, and communitarian commitment for a better world.”
