Consecrated hosts stolen for blasphemous exhibit in Spain

November 24, 2015

A Spanish artist says that he stole more than 200 consecrated Hosts, which he has arranged in an exhibition in Pamplona.

Abel Azcona says that he pretended to receive Communion, stored the Blessed Sacrament, and arranged the Hosts to spell the word “pederasty.” Although an individual removed the Hosts, photos of the sacrilegious work are now on display in a public art gallery.

The Christian Lawyers Association has filed suit against Azona for “an offense against religious sentiments and desecration,” and insisted that the Pamplona city council remove the offensive photos.

Pray for Abel Azcona .... thank God for the individual who removed the hosts. I hope the art gallery removes the photos and is shunned until it does.

Jesus Christ, in the Holy Eucharist, needs no 'body guard' nor tort actions. This sacrilege reflects only on the perpetrator and in no way on the body and blood of Christ or even the sacrament of the church. True, it is offensive to our own strictly human sensibilities, but I, for one, can endure the pettiness.
