Heads of Roman Curia meet with Pontiff; topic of session not disclosed

November 16, 2015

Pope Francis summoned the leaders of the Roman Curia to a meeting on Monday morning, November 16. The Vatican press office did not disclose the reason for the meeting.

Pope Francis has occasionally held meetings for the leaders of Vatican dicasteries, to discuss one or more important topics. In May, for example, the leaders of the Curia met to hear a report on plans for the Jubilee Year of Mercy.

Prior to the conclave at which Pope Francis was elected, a number of cardinals suggested more regular meetings of Vatican office heads, as a means of coordinating policies.
