Action urged on Green Climate Fund

November 12, 2015

Catholics Confront Global Poverty-- a joint initiative of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and Catholic Relief Services-- has called upon Catholics to ask members of Congress to support the Green Climate Fund, which was established at the 2010 United Nations Climate Change Conference.

“The Green Climate Fund is an international effort to help developing nations adapt to climate changes and mitigate their effects,” Catholics Confront Global Poverty stated in a November 11 action alert. “Contact your members of Congress today and ask them to support funding for the Green Climate Fund and strong US leadership in the upcoming United Nations conference in Paris on climate change.”

WHAT???? This is why I never support or donate to Catholic Relief Services, or any other social outreach program of the USCCB.....especially the Campaign for Human Development, now collecting donations. There are so many other agencies that really help the poor! Why is it that, if the USCCB runs it or approves it, it's got to be suspect!

I will be doing the exact opposite of this request. Can things get any worse in the Church?
