Pope to visit Auschwitz, Czestochowa?

November 10, 2015

President Andrzej Duda of Poland said on November 9 that Pope Francis wishes to visit Auschwitz and to venerate the image of the Black Madonna at Czestochowa.

Duda made his remarks following an audience with Pope Francis, who will visit Kraków next summer for World Youth Day.

“It’s a source of great joy to be able to host the Pope on our soil,” said Duda, who described the Pontiff as “an extraordinary personality, a man of incredible calm, radiating goodness,” according to a Radio Poland report.
