Italian bishops' spokesman dares 'Vatileaks' authors to disclose their own finances

November 06, 2015

In a bold challenge to the authors of two new books exposing financial secrets of the Vatican, the secretary of the Italian bishops’ conference has suggested that the journalists should give a public accounting of their own financial affairs.

“If I was in their position I would be ashamed to nit-pick at others ideologically without looking at myself,” said Bishop Nunzio Galantino. In an interview with SIR, the news agency of the Italian Catholic bishops, he asked the authors of two new books to reveal how much they would profit from the sales.
