Peruvian priest sentenced to 35 years for abuse

A Catholic priest in Peru has been sentenced to a 35-year prison term for molesting a boy at a school where he served as chaplain.

Father Waldir Perez Salias confessed to sexual abuse of a boy at St. Alphonsus school in Ate, outside Lima. He had claimed that the boy consented to the act.
