Stolen pectoral cross recovered for Nebraska bishop
October 19, 2015
Bishop James Conley of Lincoln, Nebraska, has recovered a pectoral cross-- a gift from Pope Benedict XVI-- that had been stolen during a break-in at his residence last week.
Bishop Conley had issued a special plea for the return of the cross, which had little cash value. Police announced that the cross was found "on the bishop's property."
Police continue to investigate the burglary of the bishop's residence.
