Pope lauds spiritual heritage of Comboni missionaries

October 01, 2015

Speaking on October 1 to Comboni missionaries, who were in Rome for their general chapter, Pope Francis praised the spirituality of the order.

The Comboni missionaries are “servants and messengers of the Gospel,” the Pope said. “In the Word of God there is the wisdom that comes from above, and that enables us to find the languages, approaches and tools suited to responding to the challenges of a changing humanity.”

The Pope said that he hoped the general chapter of the Comboni missionaries would help the order to “continually rediscover its great heritage of spirituality and missionary activity.”
