Dublin to host World Meeting of Families in 2018
September 28, 2015
Dublin will host the next World Meeting of Families, which will be held in 2018.
The announcement of the venue for the next international gathering was announced on September 28, as this year's World Meeting of Families drew to a close in Philadelphia.
Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin told an RTE broadcast audience that the selection of Dublin reflects the special interest that Pope Francis takes in Ireland. The archbishop, who was in Philadelphia when the announcement was made, said that it has not yet been decided whether Pope Francis will attend the Dublin meeting.
