Burkina Faso’s bishops denounce coup
September 25, 2015
The bishops of Burkina Faso deplored a recent military coup in the West African nation and welcomed the reinstatement of the nation’s president after seven days.
Lamenting the “violence and [its] fatal consequences: loss of life, injuries and destruction of property,” the bishops offered condolences to the victims, the Fides news agency reported.
The nation of 16.9 million is 61% Muslim, 15% Catholic, and 15% animist.
