Luxembourg's premier meets with Pontiff

Pope Francis met on September 17 with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel of Luxembourg, for conversations that focused on bilateral relations, religious freedom, and Church-state interactions.
As the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg takes it turn in the presidency of the European Union, the prime minister also spoke with the Pope-- and with Archbishop Richard Gallagher, the Secretary for Relations with States-- about European affairs. The discussion of that subject centered on the recent wave of refugees.
