Hackers target Vatican internet site

Edward Lucas, the author of Cyberphobia, a book on threats to computer security, reports that the Vatican internet site has successfully weathered attacks by hackers.

Lucas explains how groups that object to Vatican statements have launched attacks on the Vatican web site, sometimes using sophisticated methods to paralyze the server. The Vatican's defenses against hackers appear to be strong, Lucas says; but the attacks are likely to continue.
