Papal telegram for ecumenical conference on mercy

September 10, 2015

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, has sent a brief telegram in the Holy Father’s name to the prior of the ecumenical Monastic Community of Bose, which is hosting a conference on the spirituality of mercy and forgiveness.

Greeting the conference’s organizers and participants and imparting the apostolic blessing, Pope Francis “calls to mind that mercy is the great light of love and tenderness of God which carries forgiveness in itself,” Cardinal Parolin said in the telegram, which was dated September 12 but posted days earlier on the monastery’s website.
