Kenyan bishop: defend family against outside ideological pressures

A Kenyan bishop urged the faithful to defend marriage, and resist the pressure of ideologies that undermine family life, in a September 2 address.

Speaking to participants in a conference organized by the Kenyan bishops’ family-life program, Bishop Saleius Mugambi of Meru said that the government should support families, and encouraged his listeners to defend family rights against outside influences.

“The family is an image of the Holy Trinity that signifies the love of God for humanity,” the bishop reminded his audience.
