Malawi prelate laments climate change

August 28, 2015

Stating that “we are victims of climate change,” an archbishop lamented the “disasters we have just experienced here in Malawi: the devastating floods, the prolonged dry spell, the erratic rainfall and strong winds” that have left three million at risk of hunger.

Referring to Laudato Si’, Archbishop Thomas Msusa of Blantyre said that “the Pope’s encyclical calls on us to tackle the climate threat in the name of justice, human dignity, and service to the poor and most vulnerable among us,” the Fides news agency reported.
