Mexican bishops, government pledge to assist migrants

Representatives of the Mexican government and the Mexican Episcopal Conference met on August 24 to discuss the plight of migrants.

According to a statement from the bishops’ conference, the bishops and the government agreed to “analyze protocols for migrants, and especially girls and unaccompanied children”; to provide more immediate assistance to migrants, especially those from Cuba; and at work jointly to assist returnees.
