Canadian bishops’ conference issues election statement

The Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued a brief statement as the October 19 federal election approaches.

Five topics that serve as “a magnifying glass by which to analyze and evaluate public policies and programs,” the bishops stated, are “respect for life and human dignity from conception to natural death,” “building a more just society,” “the person and the family,” “Canada in the world: providing leadership for justice and peace,” and “a healthy country in a healthy environment.”

    Interesting to me that it doesn't appear that there's mention of the primacy of human life. I.e., to me looks like it could be a seamless garment approach where social justice, etc. are considered to be on a par with right to life. But I could be wrong...
