South Sudan’s Christian leaders call upon belligerents to sign peace agreement

August 05, 2015

The South Sudan Council of Churches has called upon belligerents in the South Sudanese Civil War to sign a peace agreement proposed by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), a regional bloc of nations.

The nation’s leading prelate, Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba, also spoke in favor of signing the agreement, even while describing it as “not perfect at all,” according to the Sudanese Catholic Radio Network.
