Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Diego are the major metropolitan areas with the highest percentage of people who identify themselves as Catholics, while Atlanta, Seattle, Dallas, and Detroit have the lowest percentage, according to the Pew Research Center.
34% of Chicago residents identify themselves as Catholic; only 11% of Atlanta residents do so.
The metropolitan areas with the highest percentage of self-identified Christians are Dallas, Atlanta, and Houston. San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston have the lowest percentage.
