The Little Sisters of the Poor will ask the US Supreme Court to overturn an appeals-court ruling that they must comply with the federal mandate requiring coverage of contraception in employee health-care plans.
The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which argued the case for the Little Sisters before the Tenth Circuit Court, will handle the plea to the Supreme Court. Attorney Mark Rienzi says, “The government has lost every single time they have made these arguments before the Supreme Court – including last year’s landmark Hobby Lobby case. One would think they would get the message and stop pressuring the Sisters.”
