A Missouri priest who was cleared of sex-abuse charges in June has filed a defamation lawsuit against his accusers.
Father Xiu Hui “Joseph” Jiang, of the St. Louis archdiocese, charges that he was the target of religious and ethnic discrimination. His lawsuit names the parents of his accuser, the city detectives who investigated his case, and the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), which issued a series of statements implying his guilt.
The lawsuit argues that the charges against Father Jiang were brought by a boy with a troubled family history and a record of making similar unsupported charges. The suit says that the accusations “were brought by a deeply troubled and unreliable 12-year-old boy at the suggestion of his abusive father."

Three cheers for Father Xiu Hui “Joseph” Jiang. It is about time that the tables were turned on these people making false claims which frequently destroy the lives of those falsely accused.

Perhaps more of this needs to happen. Good priests have been defamed too much over the last twenty years, and SNAP is eager to jump on them

Good for Father Jiang! He didn't let his desire for a "priestly image" or privacy overcome the need for justice because of a false accusation that was lodged against him. He will be in my prayers.
