3 missionary sisters to be expelled from Pakistan

The Pakistani government has decided not to renew the visas of three Filipino missionary sisters who help administer schools in Islamabad, the nation’s capital. A legal appeal filed by the local diocese was not successful.

The action comes amid a broader crackdown on foreign missionary and charitable activity in Pakistan. On June 11, according to a Pakistani media report, the government ordered foreigners who work for Save the Children to leave the country-- only to suspend the order the following day.
