Tulsa diocese drops partnership over sponsorship of gay-pride march
June 15, 2015
Bishop Edward Slattery of Tulsa has ended a partnership between the diocese and the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice, after the Center sponsored the city’s gay-pride parade.
Bishop Slattery told LifeSite News that when he heard the Center was acting as sponsor for the parade, he instructed a diocesan official to say that if the group did not issue a statement distancing itself from the campaign for same-sex marriage, he would be obliged to end their partnership. “Well, they didn’t make the statement,” the bishop said.

Please pray for Bishop Slattery who will age out at 75 this year. He has been a good shepherd. Pray also for his successor.

How good it is to read that at least one bishop has the courage to do what the Church teaches he should do.
