Temporary victory for Priests for Life in HHS mandate case
June 12, 2015
The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, which has ruled that Priests for Life is subject to the HHS mandate, has halted enforcement of the mandate against the organization pending an appeal to the Supreme Court.
“Without the stay granted today, we would have been in the position of being fined for failing to comply with the mandate,” said Father Frank Pavone, Priest for Life’s national director. “But no matter what happens, we will not obey the mandate, nor will we pay fines to the government.”
