5th meeting between Pope, Argentine president

June 08, 2015

Pope Francis received President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of Argentina in audience on June 7. It was their fifth meeting since he was elected Pope in March 2013.

In its statement on the audience, the Holy See Press Office did not list the topics discussed during the meeting, which lasted for over 90 minutes. The press office did note that the president “expressed the affection felt for the Pope by the people of Argentina and asked for the Pope’s blessings on his countrymen.”
