Numerous headstones were smashed or overturned at Saint-Charles Cemetery in Quebec City on the night of June 3.
“The extent of damage is without precedent for a cemetery in Quebec,” said Father Marc Pelchat, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Quebec.
The archdiocese put the number of toppled headstones “more than 200,” while CBC reported that 170 headstones were overturned.
