New Jersey newspaper: archbishop should be replaced after removing gay priest from campus ministry
May 29, 2015
A New Jersey newspaper editorial has called for the removal of Newark’s Archbishop John Myers, after the prelate removed a campus minister who had been advocating for a homosexual cause.
The Newark Star-Ledger editorial came in response to Father Warren Hall’s statement that he had been removed from his post at Seton Hall University because he is homosexual. “Myers is the one who should go,” the editorial said.

If newspaper editors are taking sides in internal Church matters, only because a Catholic priest happens to be a homosexual, then the homosexuality of clergy is indeed a serious problem. Bishops need to take note of this.

Bishop Myers needs to be given a medal for standing with the Church against the culture of capitulation.
