Cardinal Burke: same-sex marriage goes beyond paganism

May 29, 2015

During an address to Oxford University’s Newman Society on Pope Benedict’s intellectual legacy, Cardinal Raymond Burke commented on Ireland’s recent same-sex marriage referendum.

“This is a defiance of God,” he said. “It’s just incredible. Pagans may have tolerated homosexual behaviors, they never dared to say this was marriage.”

Turning to the upcoming Synod of Bishops, the patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta said that “there seems to be a certain element who think that the Synod has the capacity to create some totally new teaching in the Church, which is simply false,” The Tablet reported.

Amen! Living in a world of make-believe doesn't make it real or true!

MARRIAGE!!!! - there is no such thing as 'gay' marriage before God. He is the only Being able to join two people together so that they can not only participate in His creation of a soul but that they will have the grace to stay together to care for that creation. The few words said by some celebrant over two of the same sex together are nothing short of a farcical abomination. Barry Gee.

Well said, Cardinal Burke! "Defiance of God" is a much more accurate description of the homosexual perversion of marriage than "same-sex "marriage". "Defiance of God" also puts a new light on the responsibly of the Church.
