Pope Francis met on May 18, with the top officials of the Roman Curia.
The Vatican did not disclose the purpose of the Monday-morning meeting, which had not been announced in advance.
Pope Francis has held only occasional meetings with the officials of the Curia. In discussions before the conclave that elected him, many cardinals called for greater coordination among the offices of the Vatican.
