Collaborating with pontifical council, Bocelli to perform in basilicas

May 18, 2015

In a tribute to the beauty of the Christian family, tenor Andrea Bocelli, in collaboration with the Pontifical Council for the Family, will perform in various cathedrals and basilicas in 2015 and 2016.

In each city, the local bishop will announce the “good news of human love, the image of God’s love,” and following Bocelli’s singing, conclude with a time of prayer, according to the website of the initiative, which is entitled Il Grande Mistero [The Great Mystery], a reference to St. Paul’s description of marriage (Eph. 5:32).

The first event will take place in the Basilica of the Holy Family in Barcelona on May 28. Other free performances will take place in Jerusalem, Kraków, and Philadelphia, Adnkronos reported.
