Christ is the true King, Pope tells Swiss Guard

May 04, 2015

Pope Francis met with members of the Swiss Guard and their families on May 4 and recalled St. Ignatius of Loyola’s image of “two military camps, one with the banner of Christ and the other with the banner of Satan.”

“Christ is the true King,” the Pope continued. “He himself goes on, and his friends follow him. A soldier of Christ participates in the life of his Lord.”

The Pope called on the members of the Swiss Guard to attend Mass regularly, go to Confession frequently, read the Gospel daily, pray the Rosary, and serve the sick and the poor.

“In effect, Swiss Guards are a ‘billboard’ of the Holy See,” he added, as he called upon them to encounter pilgrims and others with “this ‘greater love’ that comes from friendship with Christ.”

Very happy Pope Francis said these words. I wish he would make a habit of it and drop this climate change nonsense and the pro-abortion folks who populate this movement. In other words it's nice to see him doing his assigned job once in awhile.
