Soccer star Maradona meets Pope, calls himself 'number-one fan'

Argentina’s legendary soccer star, Diego Maradona, met with Pope Francis on April 22, and pronounced himself the Pontiff’s “number-one fan.”
Maradona was in Rome with representatives of the South American Football Federation, which is working with the Vatican to establish an international educational network.
