Support International Religious Freedom Act, says USCCB committee chair
April 15, 2015
The chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace has called upon members of the House of Representatives to pass the Frank Wolf International Religious Freedom Act of 2015 (H.R. 1150).
Passage of the legislation “would be an important first step in improving the ability of our nation to advance religious freedom globally,” stated Bishop Oscar Cantú of Las Cruces, who noted that the bill would specify “annual actions to be taken against countries with severe religious freedom violations as well as the authority to sanction individuals and non-state actors who commit such violations.”
