In the wake of attacks on six Christian institutions in Delhi between December and February, police in India’s capital were directed to provide protection for 259 churches and other institutions on Easter weekend, The Indian Express reported.
“We are happy with the arrangements,” said Father Joseph Chinnayyan, spokesman for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India. “The presence of the police is being felt, and it is quite reassuring.”
