Bosnian Muslim craftsman delighted to carve chair for papal ceremony

March 31, 2015

A small workshop run by a Bosnian Muslim craftsman and his son has won the task of carving a chair to be used by Pope Francis when he celebrates Mass in Sarajevo in June.

Salem Hajdarovac is suspending work on all other projects to concentrate on producing the chair in his workshop in the town of Zavidovici. He told AP that he was so excited by the commission that he could not sleep for a week.
