Vatican plans 2nd raffle of gifts donated to Pontiff
March 24, 2015
For the 2nd time this year, the Vatican will raffle off items that were presented as gifts to Pope Francis.
In January, a raffle of various items—ranging from wristwatches to a Fiat automobile—generated tens of thousands of dollars, which the Pope handed over to papal charities. The success of that raffle prompted interest in a new initiative.
The winning tickets for the 2nd raffle will be drawn on July 30, with prizes to be claimed within a month through the Governorate of the Vatican city-state. The prizes have not yet been listed, but tickets will be available at the Vatican pharmacy, supermarket, post office, museums, and other Vatican outlets.
