Report: 2 ‘underground’ priests arrested in China

Two priests faithful to the Holy See have been arrested in Mudanjiang, a city of 2.8 million in northeastern China, according to an AsiaNews report.

Father Shaoyun Quan, 41, and Father Jianyou Cao, 43, were seized by police after they celebrated Mass, according to the report, which stated that “local Catholics are stunned by the violence” of the arrest.
