Pope meets with homeless pilgrims from France

March 19, 2015

Following his March 18 general audience, Pope Francis met with a group of 25 homeless pilgrims from Marseilles, accompanied by their archbishop and the priest who ministers to them.

One of the homeless said that “we are all brothers” and that fraternity is the objective all should pursue, beginning with those “without a home and without work.”

The Pope also met with Bishop Orazio Francesco Piazza of Sessa Aurunca, Italy, and a local mayor, who sought encouragement for their work with immigrants.

The Pontiff was also shown pictures from an upcoming film on his life and greeted several other groups.
