Canadian priest had long adversarial relationship with blogger he threatened to sue
March 18, 2015
The Canadian priest and media personality who threatened to sue a blogger had a long history of conflict with the blog writer, Catholic World Report reveals.
Father Thomas Rosica, who sometimes serves as an English-language spokesman for the Vatican press office, claimed earlier this month that “it was never my intention to sue” the blogger, David Domet. But a lawyer representing the priest had ordered Domet to apologize for his posts or face legal consequences.
Dorothy Cummings McLean, investigating the conflict for Catholic World Report, finds that Father Rosica had clashed repeatedly with Domet over a period of years, writing email messages that were apparently designed to mock the blogger.
