India: church’s cross smashed, replaced with idol

Vandals in the northern Indian state of Haryana broke into a church that was under construction, broke the cross, and replaced it with an idol of a Hindu god, according to media reports.
The incident took place in the state of Haryana in northern India.
Prime Minister Narenda Modi’s office said he is “deeply concerned” about the incident, as well as the recent gang rape of an elderly nun, according to a UCA News report.
