San Marino's heads of state meet with Pontiff

March 16, 2015

Pope Francis met on March 16 with the Captains Regent of San Marino, the joint heads of state of the little republic, which is surrounded by Italy.

After the Pope met with Gianfranco Terenzi and Guerrino Zanotti, a brief Vatican statement indicated that the conversation had centered on the friendly bilateral relations between San Marino and the Vatican, and on Church-state cooperation in social affairs.
