Pope will visit prison, wash inmates' feet in Holy Thursday service

March 11, 2015

Pope Francis will visit a prison in Rome on Holy Thursday, and wash the feet of inmates in the traditional liturgy, the Vatican has announced.

The Pope will travel to the suburbs of Rome, to the Casa Cicondariale Rebibbia, for the April 2 ceremony. During the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, he will wash the feet of inmates there and women housed in another nearby prison.
