Report: Islamic State bans Valentine’s Day

February 17, 2015

Describing Valentine’s Day as an “infidel Christian holiday,” Islamic State jihadists banned the commemoration of the day in Mosul, according to a report from the Fides news agency.

Patrols in Iraq’s second-largest city ensured that shopkeepers did not sell gifts related to the day, according to the report.
