Benedict XVI will attend consistory

Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI will attend the consistory at which Pope Francis will elevate 20 new members to the College of Cardinals on February 13.
Pope Francis apparently asked his predecessor to attend the ceremony in St. Peter's basilica-- as he did last year for his previous consistory. The retired Pontiff makes public appearances only when he is invited by the reigning Pope.
