Former Blue Cross staff member to head US bishops’ PR efforts

James Rogers, most recently executive director of public relations at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, has been named executive director of public affairs of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Rogers has also served as executive director of public relations for Kaiser Permanente (2011-14) and secretary for communications with the Jesuit Conference (2005-11). In addition, he engaged in public relations work for the National Rehabilitation Hospital and the American Cancer Society.
According to federal election records, Rogers donated $2,550 to President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2008. Four years later, he donated $750 to the Republican National Committee.
